I remember days that nobody had ever heard of Macworld. In fact people would not even take Apple seriously. Well apparently those days are well over, today almost any MS idiot knows about the upcoming event, and there is quite a buzz around it.

This is however the first time that I am seriously considering to be in line to buy the product that will be announced, an by that I mean I don't even wait for the possible bugs to be fixed or the prices to drop. Now all that is assuming that Steve would indeed introduce a super slim and light notebook. What I would like to see is 10 - 12 inch wide and about 0.3 inch thick, and around 500 grams. No optical drive and no hard disk, 4+ hours battery life. What would be amazing, is a dual screen. In other words something that would be seen from behind when the laptop door is closed, and provide the touch-screen technology and when you open the laptop, you would have the usual screen with a full keyboard.

And of course I would love to see the AAPL rebound to 210 asap!

Who thinks that an imaginary line would make so much difference! Well, Apple is not that much excited about Canada being an iPhone market! I think they just don't take the white north too much seriously! Or maybe it has to do with the greedy cell phone companies and their stupidly priced rate plans here.

In any case, it is very annoying not to be able to get the iPhone here. I'm sure that Apple is missing a lot of profit as well. That being said, there are other markets that would no doubt have much more impact on the business, such as asia, and perhaps as there has been rumors going around, China.

However, it is getting to look better. It's not about the fake photoshop editted ads of iphone in Canada or Molson's gaffe to announce iphone as a contest prize. Bell and Telus have started to offer unlimited mobile browsing options with their products. That's somthing no one would even dream for based on what they were charging a month ago!

You can now get an HTC Touch from bell, which will cost 150 dollars with a three year plan. The plans are also priced acceptable, and you can also get an unlimited data add-on for just 7 bucks a month. That's a real good deal, as getting the same from AT&T in US would cost 20 dollars. In fact you can remove unlimited data from your iPhone plan at a saving of 20 dollars US. Now iPhone will not show up on any of those companies' products. Since the only GSM network worthy of iPhone belongs to Rogers, but the availabilty of those plans could suggest strongly, that they are preparing to counter the iPhone effect.

If that would be the case, then Rogers should be a huge idiot to miss the end of the year sales. Which would in turn translate to a very near release date for iPhone probably in few weeks. I have my fingers crossed!

Jobs accepted responsibility for the decision to delay Leopard, the next version of Mac OS X. The company pushed Leopard's introduction out to October from earlier expectations of a debut this spring, citing a need to move developers from the Leopard project to make sure that the iPhone is released on time.

One shareholder asked if Apple needs to hire more developers to prevent a delay from happening again, especially since Apple's bank account has swelled from its financial performance of late. And with that, Jobs swung for the fences.

Wow, This was amazing. It truly is a revolution. Apple's new product is not only technologically advanced but as always beautiful and well designed. If I would have described one product that I would always dream of having that would be exactly iPhone. Honestly as it was being revealed I was loosing my hope of being able to get one, because I was expecting it to be well in range of 1000 dollars, but when he announced that it would only be 499, I could tell you that I was flying.
Now, two things that is still different from what I was hoping for. first, iPhone has a camera, but the camera is a 2 megapixel located on the back of the device, that means you can only use the camera to take small pictures, not for video chat, In other words you can not be looking at the screen as well as the camera, what I had hoped for was that they combine the LCD and CCD, so that while you are looking at the screen the screen could also be looking at you! the second thing is GPS, of course with all those wireless interfaces, you can always argue that the GPS is something that should be considered as a peripheral. Oh BTW, Hope that the battery would have lasted more than 6 hours of work or at least that the device could charge itself by just passing through different magnetic fields that are around us. After all I think I'm being too much demanding!

James bond is back with a new face. I have to confess that before seeing the movie, I was really sceptic that Craig could be a suitable 007, but seeing the movie changed my mind completely. Although there were things that were strange, and sometimes annoying! I don't like the Aston Martin (well, If you give me one, I will take it!) neither the ford, bond drives in the beginning. James bond orders Vodka Martini stirred!!! and Sony Ericsson is always up in your face!

Now what I liked, Perhaps the best part of the movie which was amazingly professional and artistic was the opening credits or the title sequence. It consists of illustration of the characters overlayed on a real movie, with some fantastic designs containing fractals and geometric objects. Well it is surely not just that, the new bond is much more believable and his act is a lot convincing. While you don't get a superman impression, but you see a serious bond, that fights well. maybe I will write more later! for now, I think I liked the movie. Ah one last thing, Caterina Murino is hot, wish she was there longer! ;)

I do not understand why would they trust sony after all. If Sony knew how to do business they would have survived in the first place! However, my question right now is about sony itself. Have Apple and Dell been using a technology that sony has provided but has not used in their own products?! what is sony putting in those large coffins they call VAIO?! Is Sony simply rejecting that such problem exists with their product, or are they totally ignorant that people are using their products and may be in danger. Finally can Dell or Apple, file a law suite against sony?

I have to admit that bottom of my heart I was hoping that Apple would announce a new device or an update to the iPod or MacBook, but that was too optimistic, since this event is majorly geared towards programmers community and maybe it also does not make a financial sense for Apple to update those products this early, as well as over shadowing the current announcements.

Having said this, the new professional Macs are really amazing and they come at an unbelievable price. However, maybe it's me being away from industry for a while, but I have lost my interest in desktop computers. I am more looking for great laptop solutions. I also have to say that I was not impressed with the Leopard preview. Although it's an amazing OS, and the so called MS Vista will not even come close to what was just shown (well, that is obvious) but I truly hope that the secret features that Steve didn't talk about are more important than the ones they did.

These are some of my observations regarding the keynote; Steve is getting older and thinner (understandable with his health issues and level of stress) while Phil Schiller is getting bigger and bigger, some one would better show him where the gym is at Apple. (not that I am always in a gym myself anyway!). also Steve had at least one clear moment that almost forgot what wanted to say and was looking for words, as if he was totally somewhere else, and he shared the keynote with some other people, which was a great idea, if ever Steve would want to retire Apple will need someone who could do this job, and apparently all three failed yesterday. so they'll have to practice. (BTW, Scott Forstall was mimicking Steve word by word, did you notice the "Boom ... Done!" :) )

About Time machine I would say, why it was not there earlier? also someone has to ask Scott Forstall a few questions, How much will time machine effect the performance of your mac, (making a backup in background all the time). How much will that effect my network load if I am using a remote storage. If I have 100 GB internal, how big do you need my backup medium to be so that you could send me back in time till dooms day showing me every version of the file, do you backup per write on the HD or do you do it in preset time intervals, and if you do it in time intervals how would you claim that you can retrieve everything!? Suppose that I am using a folder as a working folder saving multiple files again and again now suppose that I want to go back in time, then the find a difference feature will be almost obsolete! and more.

A couple of things that were cool, were the iChat, spaces, webclip and also the text to speech. iCal will also have a very bright future. Having said all this don't forget that Leopard is the first official 64 bit OS that also runs the 32 bit apps natively on Xeon by Apple, for that I think they have done a great job of almost rewriting everything, and I'm just eager to see what next? now that you have done the tough one.
