OSCAR

And the Oscar went to Renee Zellweger.
She was great in the "cold mountain"
Well, Shohreh Aghdashloo didn't took the Oscar, but being nominated was great enough for her.
Perhaps some other time!

Constitution

An article by Bijan Shahrestani in Aftab magazine.
Besides the overall idea, and articles that has been pointed out, there is a good argument regarding the problem that president khatami has always tried to give us as a response for editing the constitution. Whenever there has been a speech about revisiting the constitution he has said that we should stick to the constitution and that the constitution is the national epoc! But the fact is one can still be law abiding and also think of changing the laws.

News

No News!
After only 141 issues I was so used to shargh newspaper that now when"shargh" and "yas" are closed by the government, I miss them a lot! thanks God that they can never close BBC!!! so that at least we will have some news!
BTW, does closing the newspaper mean that they should not be published electronically also?

Do not vote!

It is a good idea that people would use their weblogs as a tool for news coverage of the elections on friday. since reporting by multiple observers may reduce the risk of ruining the election by the government. read this.

Shargh

Any one who would vote on the parlimentary election is an stupid idiot!
Shargh was the best persian newspaper ever!
Shargh & Yas e Now were both closed because they both had published the parliment members' letter to Khamenei!
This is one of the most evident casees of serious human rights abuses in Islamic Republic of Iran. The Constitution provides for freedom of the press, except when published ideas are "contrary to Islamic principles, or are detrimental to public rights;" however, the Government restricts freedom of speech and of the press in practice.

Warrior

"because he was a warrior who loved his king, the Shah. Because everything was taken very prominently. It was like watching a statue topple. " says Sir Ben Kingsley.
find the complete transcript of Shohreh Aghdashloo and ben kingsley with larry king here.
It's an interesting point about a warrior, what is the definition of a warrior BTW?

Viva MPs

I think one of the most important things that the cabinet and parliment can do in the remainder of the time that they can have their voice heard is to open up a few hot topics, one of which is exactly being as clear as possible in talking with the leader.
BTW, this letter was a great fist in the mouth of Doshaman e Farzaneh!

To vote or Not to vote!

This is the question?
well, I'm asking those who still love khatami what does this mean?
surely you've got tones of reasons!
I'm not arguing about that! but i just want to know your idea regarding this one,
There is some difference between one who doesn't vote at all and one who casts a vote on which has been written "NONE"!
assume that 2 million votes have been counted and the first candidate is elected with just 10 thousand votes!
the other way would be like 100 thousand votes have been counted and well, the same 10 thousand goes to the first person! which one is more threatening for the Islamic Republic? I'm not yet saying that It would be better to vote!
But if we are Boycotting the election no one should come out of his/her house on first of Esfand!

Constitution Revisited!

I think it would be a good idea to make a weblog for editing the current constitution of the Islamic Republic. Sooner or later the government and the conservatives will have to accept the constitution revision, But they might want to spoil this opportunity by simply making the changes they want! so let's in order to start the dialect and also in order to set the expectation levels of people start a weblog and gather different ideas on different articles. after a while we should be able to at least point out which articles are totally insane!
you can find the current constitution here on Hossein Derekhshan's "Editor Myself". also the english version can be found here.
Let me know what you think about this.

Takhribgaran!

I wonder if anybody could ever collect a more dirty list than this one!
By the way, it is clear even without elections that the next parliment will consist of all or at least a subset of more than 95% of these stupid minds with few thousand votes each!
with so many angles in the parliment who can call Iran a part of axis of evil then!

No Vote

I have voted many times! almost whenever there has been an election!
and I have always asked everyone I knew to do so. even in the city councils election where not many people voted I did because I could never imagine a city council with people like Chamran in it! but this time!
I was reading the bullshits of the Rahbar e Farzaneh, and this time I am really convinced that no one should vote!
at least after 25 years! It should be cleared out who is happy and who is not!

In a few posts ago I said "I know that this is not much related!" now I correct it!! everything is related!

I don't know who you think you're talking to

Ben Kingsley as Colonel Behrani says to the deputy sheriff in the "House of sand & Fog", when he (deputy sheriff) is trying to intimidate and threaten him in his uniform. I guess one of the things that the majority of Iranians –post revolutionary of course- have lost in past 25 years in comparison to their ancestors is the ability to stand on the ground in situations like this.
